Albania is a very small but beautiful country in the Balkan region, not far from Kosovo. It is currently one of the less popular countries in the Mediterranean but that is starting to change as more and more visitors start to take note of its wonderful sites. Without a doubt Albania has lovely, pure white sandy beaches, pretty much untouched mountain regions, and trendy, improving cities.

Albania’s sandy beaches are beautiful. These are mainly white, sandy beaches although of course there are a handful of pebble beaches as well. You could either spend time in the hot sun on a blanket or pay for a lounge, the decision is yours to make. Almost all of the beaches are more or less untouched by foreigners and a few are so quiet that you can have the beach to yourself, even in summer.

There are a number of mountainous areas in Albania. These regions in the north are amazing for skiing or hiking and you can also find at least a few waterfalls and fabulous lakes in the area. The mountains in that area are brilliant to visit but the other mountain regions are also beautiful.

Albanian cities are extremely lively with a cafe culture so there are huge numbers of great cafes to spend time in. Albania cities for example Kukes are worth spending a few days in to view the historic old city area and not to mention to visit a museum.

Most Albanian people are mostly friendly and will be happy to introduce you to their country if you are there.
